I get really sad about how Rachel had thought Jesse would never come back. Not because she was in that dark place where she might lose the person she cared about, but because of Jesse’s response when he does come back. “And miss all your drama? Never.” He wants to be a part of her life, even the dramatic parts, even the parts that have hurt him (He’d just taken off because she triplecast him without saying so, but he came back! He wants her drama, and he loves her for it, even if it caused a fight.), and she doesn’t seem to realize this.
When Jesse came back after the egging, Rachel asked him why he was there. Then again in, New York, she didn’t seem to understand why. Rachel doesn’t understand how much Jesse loves her. Maybe she’s afraid of it. Maybe she’s afraid of letting him in again and getting hurt. She couldn’t hold a grudge against him. She forgave him for what he did, but she doesn’t see that he still loves her the way she thought he did the first time, and it’s heartbreaking.
